TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Families have an opportunity to learn about summer safety at an event next week in Antrim County where a limited supply of bicycle helmets and life jackets will also be distributed.

Antrim County will host its "Antrim 0-6 Summer Safety Kick-off Event" from 2-6 p.m., Wednesday, June 10 Richardi Park, located along East Antrim Street in Bellaire, Michigan.

Families can connect with community representatives from Antrim County organizations and learn about summer safety topics, including fire safety, body safety, safe sleep practices and car seat safety checks. Additionally, a limited supply of free bike helmets and life jackets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. While attendees are encouraged to pre-register for a life jacket, registration does not guarantee a jacket due to limited quantities.

This collaborative community effort is proudly supported by multiple partners, including Molina Healthcare, the Bellaire Fire Department, Michigan State Police, NMCAA, the Child Abuse Prevention & Education (CAPE) Council, S.T.A.R.S. in No. Mi., and the Great Start Collaborative of Traverse Bay.
