Last Friday, Trattoria Stella welcomed students from the Transition Campus Work Experience Program to celebrate the conclusion of a successful year-long partnership. The Work Experience Program provides students with hands-on vocational learning opportunities within the community, helping to develop workplace skills while strengthening communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. With the support of a Job Coach, students are able to explore career interests, build confidence, and gain valuable real-world experiences. We are grateful to Trattoria Stella for hosting our appreciation celebration and for providing meaningful learning opportunities that have contributed to our students' growth and success throughout the school year.

With the utmost joy, we present to you the North Ed Transition Campus class of 2026! This graduation ceremony for Life Skills Center (LSC) and Adult Community Experience (ACE) students marks the end of one journey, and the beginning of many others, as several graduates bring the skills they’ve learned in our programs to new employment opportunities, such as Grand Traverse Industries. The work done at our Transition Campus truly embodies North Ed’s vision: partnering to ensure every learner will have pathways to a meaningful life. It has been an honor to watch each of you grow, adapt and thrive. We can’t wait to cheer you on as you conquer the world! Congratulations, graduates.

Transition Campus Prom is a true celebration of student growth and empowerment. Beyond the music and fun, it highlights the vital social skills and meaningful friendships our students build every day. Gathering together with families, staff and students to celebrate these achievements is what makes prom night so deeply meaningful.
Thank you, Chris Tredway, for volunteering your talents and capturing these moments.

We are entering the final weeks of the school year, and every day remains an important opportunity for our students. We have 9 days left to learn, connect, and grow together before the summer break. We look forward to seeing everyone in the classroom as we work toward a strong finish.

We understand that barriers to attendance can arise. Whether it involves transportation, health or other hurdles, our school is here to provide support. If your family is facing challenges with attendance, please reach out to our office so we can help. #SuccessStartsWithShowingUp

Throughout the year, our Adult Community Experience (ACE) Downtown students participate in various art, cooking and baking projects, leading up to their annual ACE Art Show & Bake Sale. Many of the pieces featured in today’s art show are also on display until May 28 at Art on Union’s Buzz & Bloom Exhibit. Don’t miss your chance to witness the creativity of these talented students!

The best way to start Teacher Appreciation Day is with a full heart and an even fuller plate! North Ed staff gathered at Career Tech this morning for our annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast. This event was a reminder that North Ed staff don’t only serve students, we serve our fellow educators every day! Thank you to all of the staff who volunteered their time to make this event special and to our Culinary Arts program who created this fantastic feast.

A stronger area begins with present students. When our students are in class and engaged, they are preparing to be the future leaders and neighbors of our community. We appreciate your support in this shared effort.

School is a place where students build a sense of belonging. When they attend regularly, they develop the friendships and connections that help them feel safe and supported. We want every student to know their seat is waiting for them. #SuccessStartsWithShowingUp

Happy Bus Staff Appreciation day to our dedicated drivers, attendants, office staff and transportation nurses. You do so much more than simply getting students from point A to point B. You make education possible for countless students in our community every single day. Thank you for your heart, your hard work and your commitment to the safety and success of our students!

Regular attendance helps students build the routines they need to feel confident in their school day. These small daily habits lead to significant long-term achievements and help students become capable learners. #SuccessStartsWithShowingUp
