The Traverse Bay region has an incredible connection to community through outstanding contributions and collaboration from business, industry and community partners who are willing to invest in schools by sharing time, talent and support. Nearly 1,000 business owners, managers, technicians, and employees, representing 500 local companies make up the Career Tech's partnership network.

All Career Tech programs have business advisory committees which meet each fall and spring to advise programs in relation to current business trends, equipment and product development, curriculum development,  and employment practices that support best practices and growth for business and industry.

Seeking student talent?

We are always looking to expand work-based learning opportunities for our students. Work-based learning opportunities include:

Job Shadows - students are placed with a business/industry for a day and are able to observe someone on the job to see what a certain job is like.
Non-Paid Work Experiences - students are matched with area professionals in their areas of interest and work alongside other employees.
Co-op Experience - students are released from their school for a portion of the day and placed with an area employer for a paid experience. Students gain practical work experience before high school graduation.
Internships - students gain experience working with an area employer
