Prospective Students
Welcome!
We invite prospective students and their parents/guardians to consider the opportunities provided by this regional career tech center. We are pleased to support our local school districts by offering 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to participate in one of the finest career and technical education centers in the state of Michigan. Our mission is to prepare students with skills and learning experiences in high skill, high demand, and high wage careers and post-secondary experiences.
Campus Visits
Each school year North Ed Career Tech welcomes students to campus to tour the facility, meet instructors, and learn firsthand about the career-oriented programs available to them during their junior and senior years of high school. Twenty-one programs are offered as an extended learning opportunity that supplements the students' academic coursework at their local high school.
Tenth Grade Visitation - Occurring each February, sophomores from every area high school have the opportunity to tour the center with their classmates and explore three programs of their choosing. Those students who are interested in applying for enrollment for the coming year are encouraged to work with their home school counselor and submit an application prior to April 15.
Eighth Grade Visitation - Occurring in the spring of each year, eighth grade students from area middle schools in the region visit the center with their classmates to hear about each of the twenty-one programs offered at Career Tech. This provides the opportunity for students to think about their career interests, evaluate their strengths and ask questions that will help guide their learning choices prior to entering high school.
Scheduling a Tour - parents are encouraged to schedule a personal visit with their student any time during the school year. It is always best to see the campus and our students in action during the course of any school day. Please call our main office at 231.922.6273 to talk to a staff member about planning a visit.
